- Look for matches of 4 and 5 – you can create Bonus Power tiles this way.
- Don’t forget to keep moving around on the gold tiles that you create – you can find more chances to create matches when you explore, and sometimes you’ll notice new areas you hadn’t visited before.
- Remember, you don’t need to clear every tile in each level, you just need to make a path to get to the exit.
- You can only see a limited distance in dark rooms, unless you can turn on some of the lights. Walk around a bit to see what jewels there are to match around you.
- Look out for the colored switches that you can walk over – these will trigger interesting events like lighting up dark levels, moving rooms and opening doors. You MUST trigger some of these to finish some levels.
- Later on you will start seeing large colored idols which have a jewel symbol on them. Match that type of jewel to fill up the idol, and it will activate, transforming some of the tiles around it. In some levels, if you can’t seem to get past some spots near an idol, try activating the idol in order to reset the tiles around it.
- Some of the creatures, like the spider, iguana, scorpion, cobra and mummy, are particularly menacing. You can defeat them by matching tiles next to all of them except the cobra. In the case of the cobra, keep at least 1 tile’s distance from it and you’ll be fine.
- The treasures trigger random minigames, which can add a lot of points to your score. New types of minigames will appear in later temples.
- If you get caught in a water trap, you have to restart the level. Water traps are triggered by colored switches, but sometimes the colored switch also triggers events that are necessary to finish levels, so you’ll just have to escape the water traps as fast as you can! If a room fills with water and you didn’t get through it, just wait for the water to drain away after a short while.

- Pick up coins to restore your speed boost faster.
- Green power-ups will give you useful abilities for a while, but avoid the red ones – they freeze you.

- Try to find the edges of each mosaic first.
- Look for matching cracks and lines.
- The mosaics are all symmetrical, so that the left side usually looks the same as the right side. Try to figure out the pattern to follow.

- Forget about trying to match every tile and just clear your way to the exit first!
